Limi Valley Kailash Trek [VALVKT18]

Day 1
An afternoon flight brings us to Nepalgunj, the largest city in western Nepal and a jumping-off point for many flights and buses into western Nepal, set in the steamy Terai near the border of India. We stay at the hotel.

Day 2
An early morning flight 218km north to Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla, situated up on a ridge overlooking the Humla Karnali River. Overnight tented camp.

Day 3
A walk along fields with mainly barley, buckwheat, rice and potatoes. The trail goes high above the Karnali River, partly through pine forests, passing a few  villages and local people with herds of goats that carry tiny backpacks, and ponies and yaks on their way to the border with Tibet  to trade.  Just before Kermi village, camp with a beautiful view over the mountains.

Day 4
The trail we pass through is rocky, interesting landscape and beautiful turning of Karnali River, it takes approx 7 hours to reach Shinjungma. Overnight at tented camp

Day 5

Take a rest day in Shunjungma. Overnight tented camp.

Day 6
Today it's a very tough, but rewarding climb to the highest point during the trek, the Nyalu La. There can be snow, which makes the climb more challenging. From the pass one can see breathtaking 360 degrees views into Humla and into Tibet and  the holy Mt. Kailash (6714m) and Mt. Saipal (7031 m). Overnight tented camp.

Day 7
The finest view U shaped Talung valley goes to the glacier cut steep path by the ancients traders. After the Tshom Tso pass trails goes through the river bank into Takche Valley. All mountain ranges and Tibetan village can observe and down to Gumma Yok. Jang  is the biggest village, near by here is hot spring and set the camp for over night.

Day 8
Follow the same valley to get Halji. It’s again naturally beauty valley, continue head to Halji. It is big village with the centuries old monastery and farming like barley, wheat, buckwheat & potatoes. Overnight tented camp

Day 9
It is a short trek today although there is a bit of a climb to campsite at Til, an exquisite and tidy village located about 40 minutes walk above the Humla Karnali River. An early afternoon arrival gives enough time to explore the gompa located about 20 minutes walk from the village and to enjoy the hospitality of these friendly people.

Day 10
Today the distance looks short but on the reality convoluted path weaves its way through ravines and up and down trails. The path is very difficult and more ups and downs. Walking through the trans Himalaya dread path requires careful with yak and sheep who is carrying loads for trade. Over night at camp.

Day 11
Trek to the border and cross where crew from Tibet are waiting then complete immigration formalities and drive approx 1 hour to Taklakot. Overnight Guest House.

Day 12

Drive to the to the highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world is full of fishes and swans. Holy Kailash Parbat, Mt. Gurula-Mandala, Lake Rashekshi are lying on its surrounding. The region is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creatures. Night will be spending at Chu Gumba at the guest house.

Day 13

AM : The Group is free to explore the Lake MANASORVAR or Visit the Hot Spring on own 
PM: Drive to Darchen for overnight at guesthouse.

Day 14

Drive 5-6hrs ahead of Sershong to the trek starting point of Kailas Parikarma (13 Kms). Trek to Dirapuk (7 kms) Overnight at the Ashram.

Day 15

Trek approx 9-10hrs to Zuthul PUK crossing the Dolma la Pass (5650m) visiting Gauri Kunda. Overnight tented camp or guest house.

Day 16

End Kailas Parikarma (10 Kms.) approx. 3-4 Hrs trek and drive to Saga. 7Hrs

Day 17

Drive to Tingri 6-7 hr, check in at hotel, rest and overnight.

Day 18

Drive back to Kathmandu ( nepal )
